Hailing from McAllen, Texas, brothers Joel Espinoza (age 24) and Leonel Espinoza (age 20) are the duo behind Hermanos Espinoza, one of música Mexicana’s most exciting emerging acts.
Their roots trace back not to a music studio, but to their family’s small restaurant where discipline, responsibility, and perseverance was instilled at an early age. It was also within those walls that their appreciation for music first took shape, laying the foundation for what later came to be Hermanos Espinoza.
Music has been a constant in Joel and Leonel Espinoza’s lives, shaped early on by their father, uncle, and family gatherings. It was in those moments that they were first introduced to instruments and began learning how to play. Over time, they continued developing their skills on their own, with Joel teaching himself the accordion, and Leonel learning both the bajo sexto and bajo quinto. Together, they’ve created a sound that reflects their roots while adding a personal touch.
From a young age, the brother duo Hermanos Espinoza were naturally drawn to music and the art of storytelling through song. As their love for performing continued to grow, they continued to book quinceañeras, backyard gatherings and small serenades which then laid the foundation for what would soon become a promising career.
In early 2022, they officially launched their professional journey with the release of their debut single “El Malandrín.” Their momentum carried into 2023 with the release of their breakout track “Prueba De Fuego,” which has since amassed 136 million views on YouTube, followed by the viral hit “DIOS POR DELANTE” in January 2024. Since then, Hermanos Espinoza have kept their momentum going, dropping standout tracks like “Vision De Tunel” and “Buena Vibra,” while growing to over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Sergio Vega, Tito Torbellino, as well as Peso Pluma and Junior H, Hermanos Espinoza have masterfully blended the old with the new. By blending classic norteño elements with modern influences, they’ve created a sound that is distinctly their own. With songs written by lead singer Joel Espinoza, their music resonates with honesty and emotion, exploring themes of perseverance, hard work, faith, and real-life experiences. Their messages go beyond the surface, sharing personal stories that aim to inspire listeners, offering motivation and serving as a guiding light for those in need of hope.
Signed to Double P Management in July 2025, Hermanos Espinoza have quickly made waves, establishing themselves as música Mexicana’s next breakout stars. With 2026 poised to be a landmark year, the brother duo kicked off the year by earning a coveted spot on Spotify’s Artists to Watch 2026 list, standing out as the only música Mexicana act featured.
Marking another milestone, Hermanos Espinoza released their debut studio album LINAJE on March 20, 2026, coinciding with their grandmother’s birthday. This 15-track album pays tribute to their family and the foundation that inspired their musical journey, while emphasizing themes of motivation and spiritual connection. LINAJE not only showcases the brothers’ undeniable talent but also positions them as leaders in the música norteña subgenre for a new generation, pushing the boundaries of the genre and style.
Peaking at #5 on Apple Music’s Top Latin Albums chart, #8 on Top Albums USA on Spotify, and #33 on All Genre Albums on Apple Music, LINAJE has made an immediate impact. In its first week, the album surpassed 20 million streams on Spotify and later climbed to a peak position of #6 on Apple Music, solidifying their stance in música Mexicana.
With more music and exciting announcements on the horizon, Hermanos Espinoza are set to become the next breakout stars in Música Mexicana, leading the charge for a new generation.
